DESCRIPTION:The South Central CASC will be attending Monarch Day at the Chickasaw Cultural Center on Saturday\, September 10th. \nWe will be hosting a booth on The Stories of Penology as a part of the Time to Restore project. \n\nThere will be a matching game for the kids to match the names of the phenophase to its corresponding image for both Monarch Butterflies and Milkweed plants.\nThere will be a nature’s notebook sheet to allow everyone to collect data while investigating plants and determining their phenophase.\nYou can craft butterflies using coffee filters and pipe cleaners.\nAnd of course\, there will be handouts related to all of the above available.\n\nYou can also become a citizen scientist by helping to track flowering and seed timings of plants through Nectar Connectors\, a campaign of Nature’s Notebook\, the USA National Phenology Network’s plant and animal data collection program.
